Plaid button-down shirts have been part of men’s fashion for so many years. Since then, pairing it with plain bottoms with muted colors has also been part of its fashion package because of its bold patterns. However, when its plaid contains muted shades, that’s the point when you can wear any color of bottom you prefer!

What I’m wearing: Tomato cardigan, Chemistry x Seph button-down, Petrol jeans, Crocs shoes, SMAccessories.

When wearing bright colors especially when it comes to jeans, always remember to match it up with muted shades to avoid contradictory to each other. And since my jeans have one of the eye catchy shades: red, I picked this gray cardigan from Tomato that fits well with my top, and also with my bottoms.

Black, Navy Blue and White button-downs are one of the easiest plaid color combinations to pair up with any shades you want. And the good thing with plaid shirts, it can be used on whatever style you prefer: preppy, rugged, laid back, etc. This button down from Chemistry that I also designed shows a minimalist style of plaid. Always take note that pairing patterns over patterns may only complicate and contradict each other. So better match your plaids with plain cardigans and bottoms.
